The Practise
The two Directors Michael Peart and Bruce Bradley founded Peart Bradley Architects in 2004 merging BSP Architects and Carnell Green Bradley Architects; we are based at 12 Regent Street in the Centre of Nottingham. Michael Wakerley joined the office in 2007 and is now an Associate. The practice is small and focused on providing a personal service to every client.

Our clients include companies, local authorities, colleges, voluntary groups and individual clients. An extensive portfolio of completed projects is available to view on this site including: school and college buildings, one off houses, house extensions and alterations, developer housing, listed buildings, church repairs, community schemes and commercial developments.

As design led architects we enjoy a challenge and strive to be... just a little bit different, if you are considering a project in Nottingham or the East Midlands Area and would like to visit any of our finished buildings please get in touch.

Architectural Services
Within our sectors of expertise our main services include:
  • Feasibility Studies
  • Measured Surveys of Buildings
  • Preparation of initial sketch ideas
  • Preparation of detailed designs and the submission of planning applications
  • Preparation of detailed drawings for Building Regulations and on site construction
  • Administering contracts on site to completion

1. Individual houses
The 4 projects shown include 3 new houses and one remodeling of an existing house; in all of them we strove to meet our client’s aspirations in terms of style, layout and form and also their budget. We have designed houses that range in construction cost from £350,000.00 up to £1.9 million ex vat and each set of requirements has generated an individual solution.

2. House Extensions
We have chosen 4 extensions that aim to demonstrate the variety of designs we have completed but there are many others in Nottingham that we can show you on many different houses types, the project values range from £15,000.00 up to £400,000.00 ex vat. Usually we are involved from the outset to completion often obtaining contractors quotations and liaising with subcontractors for fitting out of bathrooms, kitchens and finishes.

3. Residential Developments
Two of the schemes shown, Crich and Exton are for 7-8 new houses in rural settings where the form and style of the properties needed to reflect the local vernacular. The developer saw the benefit of including a mix of house types whilst retaining a consistent design language throughout.

4. Historic Building Conservation
Our conservation work has been mainly undertaken by Bruce Bradley who is AABC accredited. He has gained experience since 1988 when he was project architect on an Elizabethan Manor house in Cheshire; this was followed up with a Diploma at Demontfort University in Historic Building Conservation in 1996. Currently we are the appointed on 14 listed church buildings in the Southwell Diocese.

5. Education
The 4 projects shown include a reception classroom and nursery alteration to an existing school and a complex fast track project to merge two primary schools into one for Nottingham City Council, a new contemporary arts faculty building with additional social areas for Grantham College and a large new teaching block for Nottingham Trent University.

6. Church Repairs and Reordering
Reordering can involve as little as the relocation a font to a complete rethink of the way a church is used. At the larger scale costing around £ 300,000.00 ex vat Watnall Baptist church included a new gallery, baptistery, social areas and kitchen and at St Helens the removal of the pews, a new floor, kitchen, sound and lighting systems and a new way of entering the church.
